The project consists of the rehabilitation and extension of a house destroyed at the end of the Second World War.
Isolated in a wild pine forest in the heart of Roucas Blanc, two volumes reveal their charms in reflections. The parallelepiped, topped by a terrace that is a clearing, frames the leafy shadows of a lush, hidden site with glazed arches. The tightening of the same pattern of these arches concentrates the sun's heat beam on the ochre facade of the offset storey. With its four-sloped roof topped by spires, the elevation of this block offers a vertical counterpoint to the elongated grey stonework at its feet. Each ornamental element finds a response in the harmony of the embracing rhymes of this monastic haven of a small Tuscan palace. The shapes and materials of the roofs, those of the friezes, the tones of the stones, bricks and tiles: everything contributes to the utopian assembly, both vernacular and timeless, of this home of tales and legends.
