The project consists of renovating a shed nestled in the heart of a Marseille neighborhood.
The original space, which was cramped and fragmented, has been redesigned in terms of its volumes, opened up to double height and characterized by the presence of vernacular materials: handmade terracotta tiles, light-colored plaster, waxed concrete, wood, and draperies. A long, discreet, continuous oak linear element conceals technical spaces. The architectural gesture is in keeping with a tradition of minimalism. The spiral staircase, combining fine lines and metallic lightness, connects the levels without disrupting the softness of the space, emphasizing its restrained verticality. A discreet reinterpretation of the spirit of Marseille's cabanons, the project gives this urban space a renewed anchor: a simple, sunny place, designed to welcome the passage of time in the continuity of a Mediterranean memory.
